ROSPHERE is a state-of-the art gamma ray spectrometer with 25 elements placed in a spherical geometry around the emission point. Optimized for measuring the very short half-lives of nuclear states, the array contains in standard configuration 14 high-purity Germanium detectors and 11 LaBr3(Ce) fast scintillators. ROSPHERE provides on the same time a relatively high detection efficiency and good granularity, being very suitable for coincidence measurements. The infrastructure is taking heavy ion...

Nuclear Physics Experiments
SERVICE DESCRIPTION:
The 9 MV Tandem Accelerator and the surrounding detection, signal processing and data acquisition systems allows research groups to perform a wide range of nuclear physics experiments in the fields of nuclear structure or nuclear reaction physics. The most important setup is the ROSPHERE array which consist of 25 detectors (HPGe detectors only or mixed array with LaBr3(Ce) fast timing detectors). This setup, along with the plunger device allow researchers to perform nuclear structure experiments with available accelerated ions and available energies at this accelerator.

Development of gamma-ray detectors based on novel scintillation materials
SERVICE DESCRIPTION:
The support infrastructure of the ROSPHERE spectrometer is used for developing gamma-ray detectors based on novel scintillation materials and solid state photosensors. The electronics workshop allows the development of prototype preamplifiers and front-end electronics, while the detector workshop assures mechanical design and construction, integration and realistic testing. The Tandem accelerator complex has all the conditions for realistic in-beam comissioning.
